Strengths

K’Lavon Chaisson is quick off the snap off the ball and already making contact when he was at the line of scrimmage. Whenever he was at the outside linebacker spot, he was quick to contact the offensive line even while they were still in their backpedaling motions.

His ability to bend and maneuver as an athletic rusher while maintaining speed is a huge boost of his draft. His motor is also hard to stop after contacting the offensive line. Chaisson’s ability to turn his pass rush from speed to power adds to his versatility on the edge.

He can also attack the interior offensive line by looping from the edge coming from the linebacker corps or from the line of scrimmage. His great change of direction in his hips makes him a fast edge rusher to slow down. He can also find the smallest available gaps to squeeze through and make chaos in the backfield.

Chaisson can also defend the passing game well as a zone coverage linebacker with his ability to stay alert and not give up the easy plays. When in zone coverage, he can stop a multitude of players from slot receivers, tight ends, and running backs. He can move through traffic in run plays and get to the running back by taking great angles.
