Inspired by the hit ESPN documentary series, the podcast discusses which college football seasons would make compelling Last Dance fodder.

With sports on pause, fans across the country have been rushing to their televisions every Sunday night to watch ESPN’s The Last Dance documentary series about the Chicago Bulls’ 1997-98 season.

That season was Michael Jordan’s final season as a Bull, ultimately culminating in a sixth championship in eight years. With an interesting cast of characters featuring Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Phil Jackson, there hasn’t been a lack of intriguing story lines to follow.

With COVID-19 still dominating the headlines and our every day lives, The Last Dance has given us a two-hour reprieve the last couple of Sundays to immerse ourselves into a fascinating story and ignore the perils of the outside world.

With that in mind, after our weekly coronavirus update, Zach and I thought it would be fun to put a college football spin on The Last Dance and discuss which college football dynasties would make for the most intriguing documentary series.

Zach and I compiled separate lists of six different seasons we would focus on to make this happen. College football has had its fair share of dynastic runs, and there’s been no shortage of fascinating characters who would make for interesting television.

If you had to pick a team and a season to focus on for a college football inspired Last Dance documentary, who would you choose and why? While we compiled a combined 12, there’s still plenty of other interesting stories that we didn’t hit on, so we would love to hear from each one of you.
