2. Cade Mays, OL
After spending his first two college seasons with the rival Georgia Bulldogs, offensive lineman Cade Mays will play his junior season for his hometown Tennessee Volunteers.
As a true freshman in 2018, Mays played in 11-of-14 games, including starting seven and playing in 75 percent of Georgia’s offensive plays during SEC play. He was named to both the Freshman All-SEC team by the league’s coaches and to the FWAA Freshman All-American team.
In 2019, Mays played in all 14 games for the SEC East winning Bulldogs and made 11 starts at four different offensive line positions (six games at right guard, two at right tackle, two at left guard and one at left tackle. As a result, he was named the co-winner of the Charley Trippi Award for versatility, given at the Bulldogs post-season awards gala.
After the season, Mays announced he will be transferring to Tennessee after his father sued Georgia after part of his father’s pinky was amputated during a 2017 recruiting event.
With an attorney confident, Mays will obtain immediate eligibility, the offensive lineman will likely slide into the Vols’ starting lineup. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound lineman, is projected to be a first-round selection in nearly every early 2021 mock draft.
