Texas football did not find much success in the 2019 season or 2020 NFL Draft. The Longhorns hope to change both this season.

The Texas Longhorns suffered a backslide from an extraordinarily successful 2018 season to another moderate 2019 college football season.

The Longhorns look to have a much more successful season in the fourth year under Tom Herman. They look to have some older players step up and get them back to Big 12 title performance level. Those players will look to become high-valued prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Longhorns only had three of their players get selected. Safety Brandon Jones was the earliest a Longhorn was selected in the process as he was selected with the 70th overall pick in the third round. Wide receiver Devin Duvernay was selected in the third round (92nd overall pick) and wide receiver Collin Johnson was selected in the fifth round (162 overall pick).

The Longhorns looks to have a much more productive NFL draft when the next draft starts on April 29, 2021. Texas projects to have two Longhorn players selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

There will be other prospects that will look to elevate their status for the 2021 NFL Draft with a great 2020 season.

Here are three of the top Texas prospects for the 2021 draft.
