Auburn Football: Top 3 Tiger prospects for 2021 NFL Draft
The Tigers have created some talented wide receivers that have made a significant impact in the league. Seth Williams has the potential and talent to become a top reliable receiver day one for an NFL team.
Williams came in as a four-star recruit and the fifth-ranked player from the state of Alabama in the recruiting class of 2018. He came in and impacted the Auburn Tigers immediately in his freshman season in 2018.
During that season, Williams played in 10 games while catching 26 passes for 534 yards and five touchdowns. This past season, Williams accounted for 59 receptions for 830 yards and eight scores. He caught eight passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns in the win against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. In the loss against the Georgia Bulldogs, he caught 13 passes for 121 yards.
Williams is a highly-athletic receiver, who can easily separate himself from the defensive backs on his routes and win contested matchups. What Williams lacks in top-speed, he possesses the ability to move through quick shuffling and change of directions. He is also not an easy receiver to take down on the run.
What appeals to NFL offenses is his versatility to line up at outside receiver or slot receiver and run a diverse set of routes. He is considered as a late-first round to early-second round selection. He will look to be the first Auburn wide receiver taken in the first round of the NFL draft since Chris Woods in 1984.
