The 2021 NFL Draft is still a year away, but USC football is hoping for a better performance with a handful of prospects who could sneak into round one.

The doubt surrounding Clay Helton in Las Angeles is deafening. The head coach hasn’t quite recruited at the level USC fans expect and the past couple of seasons have been underwhelming.

With the 2020 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, everyone is now focused on the upcoming season — assuming there is one — and USC fans are left wondering which players will be next to head to the league. Will the Trojans have any first-round prospects in the 2021 class?

Short answer: yes. Long answer: it’ll take big seasons from a few prospects if they’re going to get selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Trojans aren’t lacking elite-level talent heading into the 2020 season and that all starts on the offensive side of the ball. Kedon Slovis will be playing on Sundays in the near future, but he’s still just a sophomore and needs to prove himself a couple more times before he can head to the draft. He has some talented receivers and even some running backs behind him with NFL dreams.

On the defensive side of the ball, USC has more talent than you might think with a couple of guys who could be selected on Day 1 or Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Let’s take a look at the Trojans’ top three prospects for the 2021 draft.
