With Lane Kiffin in town, Ole Miss football will have no problem sending kids to the NFL. The 2020 Rebels have no shortage of NFL talent.

Like their in-state rivals, the Ole Miss Rebels are entering a new era with a quirky head coach taking over. Mississippi State has Mike Leach now and Ole Miss went with Lane Kiffin who many believe was a home run hire.

Kiffin was a fantastic, and drastic, way to move on from the Matt Luke era and he should be able to find success in Oxford. He’s a great recruiter and he had plenty of success with Florida Atlantic after previous college stops with Tennessee, USC and an offensive coordinator with Alabama before heading to the Owls.

Ole Miss hasn’t seen a ton of success recently and it feels like the Hugh Freeze era was decades ago. The Rebels were one of the fastest-rising teams in the SEC when Freeze was in town, but a scandal forced him to resign and that’s where Luke came in. The former offensive lineman for Ole Miss didn’t coach a single bowl game. He faced sanctions, but only reached six wins once.

Kiffin, on the other hand, recruited the JUCO level aggressively and that helped him go 26-13 in three seasons with the Owls. He made two bowl games and won two Conference USA titles.

As far as NFL talent goes, Kiffin will have plenty more of that in Oxford than he ever had with Florida Atlantic, but who could he send to the draft in 2021?
