Kentucky Football: Way-too-early 2020 depth chart projections
Kentucky football’s depth chart may not feature Lynn Bowden but still should be enough to finish near the top of the SEC East for a third straight season.
Perhaps the most underrated program in the nation the past two seasons have been the Kentucky Wildcats.
Very quietly, the Wildcats have gone a combined 18-8 the past two seasons with an SEC record of 11-8, a 10-win 2018 season and bowl game victories over Penn State and Virginia Tech.
Last season, many assumed the Wildcats would fall back to earth with the program’s all-time leading rusher Benny Snell Jr. and all-time sack leader Josh Allen off to the NFL. Instead, they won eight games including six with wide receiver Lynn Bowden at quarterback with starter Terry Wilson and second-stringer Sawyer Smith both injured.
Heading into 2020, many are again predicting a drop off with Bowden off to the NFL. However when looking at the talent coming back and just how many veteran players will return to the Kentucky starting lineup, it’s hard to imagine any sort of drop-off.
Here’s a way-too-early look at the Wildcats projected depth chart for 2020.
