Not many expected much from Kentucky’s secondary in 2019 as they had lost four starters the year before, including two day two NFL draft picks. Instead, Kentucky’s pass defense finished second-best in the nation and top’s in the SEC as they allowed just 167.8 passing yards per game.

In 2020, Brandin Echols and Yusuf Corker both return after ranking among the top defensive backs in the SEC. The team also gets back Davonte Robinson, who missed the entire 2019 season with a torn right quad.

The key addition is LSU transfer Kelvin Joseph who will slide into a starting corner spot after sitting out a year. He is a former top 50 prospect who figures to be among the SEC’s top corners once he fully developed.

Off the bench, Kentucky will have Cedrick Dort, who started nearly every game last season as well as Tyrell Ajian, who has made a pair of interceptions in his career.

This group figures to continue to improve with more experience and should again rank among the SEC’s elite.
