Special Teams

Kicker: Matt Ruffolo
Backup kicker: Chance Poore

While Kentucky’s punt game is in good hands the placekicker position is a big question mark. Chance Poore started the season as Kentucky’s kicker only to lose his job to Matt Ruffolo after missing a would-be 35-yard game-winner against Florida.

Ruffolo lost the job a few weeks later after missing a pair of extra points only to win it back when Poore again struggled. Thus, there will be a kicking battle with Ruffolo, who finished the season strong and having knocked down a 50-yarder the likely favorite.

Punter: Max Duffy
Backup punter: Grant McKinniss

Kentucky’s special team unit returns the best punter in the nation in Ray Guy Award winner Max Duffy who averaged 48.1 yards per punt last season, recorded a 70-yard punt, ran for a 26-yard gain on a fake and recorded two tackles.

Long snapper: Cade Degraw

The team will also have a new long-snapper in Cade Degraw as four-year starter Blake Best played his final season in 2019.

Punt returner: Josh Ali
Backups: Travis Tisdale, Zach Johnson

Kick returner: Travis Tisdale
Backup: Zach Johnson

In the return game, redshirt freshman Travis Tisdale figures to play a much larger role after sitting out most of last season while Zach Johnson and Josh Ali will likely also get some chances.
