Which teams in the last 10 years are the best to not finish as national champs? We rank the 10 best non-championship college football teams since 2010.

There are always teams that on paper may have been better than the one who won it all. Just look to the NBA and the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors who won an NBA record 73 regular season games but still fell short of a title.

In the last 10 years of college football, several teams are similar to that Warriors squad.

Whether they had dominant regular seasons with wins over top-flight programs, a roster full of future NFL stars or that simply fell a yard or two short of winning it all these all-time great teams still cannot call themselves national champions.

This happens quite often in the college football world as some could argue that there are plenty of years when the best team doesn’t win it all. That’s not exactly fair to the national champions, but the most talented squads aren’t always the ones that come out on top.

Here we rank the top 10 teams since 2010 that failed to end the season on top of the college football world.
