UCLA Football: Top 3 Bruins prospects from 2021 NFL Draft
Demetric Felton has had an interesting UCLA career. After a quiet freshman season in which he played just four games, he has broken out over the past two seasons.
In fact, his sophomore season yielded 20 receptions for 207 yards and a touchdown and then he really got his big shot as a junior when the Bruins needed running back help. He switched from receiver to running back and it paid major dividends. He finished with 55 catches for 594 yards and four touchdowns and he rushed for another 331 yards and a score.
With Joshua Kelley gone, the Bruins will be relying on Felton to be that lead back and this is his time to shine. If he gets the blocking he needs, he could prove himself as an NFL-caliber rusher with the ability to catch passes out of the backfield which is huge.
Felton stands just 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds so he’s better served as a running back but he has the ability to play in the slot and he’s explosive.
This is a big year for the senior back as he will try to prove himself as a mid-round running back prospect, at least.
