One of the most intriguing prospects in next year’s draft, Israel Mukuamu has the size and length to be one of the first cornerbacks taken.

At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Mukuamu has rare height for a cornerback and I think that it will be interesting to see whether he stays at that position at the next level or if a move to safety might benefit him in the NFL.

Mukuamu had a breakout season in 2019, totaling four interceptions and nine pass deflections, to go along with 59 tackles. He was named second-team All-SEC and that is quite an accomplishment.

South Carolina has one of the most talented secondaries in the SEC and Mukuamu is going to be catching some first round buzz by the time that this season is over.

The main thing that Mukuamu needs to show is that he can be smooth in coverage and in transition and breaking on the ball because of his size. He has the length to be an elite cover corner but he must show that he has all of the skills that will translate to the next level.
