Tennessee football owns the No. 1 recruiting class in the SEC for 2021 and the Volunteers continued to build on that Wednesday.

Don’t look now, folks, Tennessee football is on its way back to relevance thanks to Jeremy Pruitt.

A few weeks into the 2019 season, it seemed as if Pruitt was wearing out his welcome after losses to Georgia State and BYU. The Volunteers were searching for answers and the quarterback position was a major question mark.

Then things turned around. The Volunteers won seven of the last eight games, including a six-game winning streak to end the year.

Coming back to win the Gator Bowl over Indiana set off an incredible run of positive momentum that has leaked into the 2020 recruiting class’ signing day (No. 10 in the nation) and the subsequent 2021 recruiting class. Tennessee currently has the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation which also happens to be the best in the SEC.

After landing four-star athlete Kaemen Marley, the Volunteers continue to build on an elite recruiting class which has shocked just about everyone.

No, it won’t remain at No. 2 in the country or tops in the SEC even by National Signing Day, but the fact that Pruitt has gotten 23 kids to buy in to the future of Tennessee football is a massive win.

Ten four-stars have committed to Tennessee’s 2021 class and that number will surely grow by a couple by signing day.

In the midst of a pandemic, Pruitt is hitting home run after home run, including 14 commitments since the start of April. That’s just insane.

Don’t sleep on the future of Volunteer football as it’s just getting started. Pruitt is going to get this program back on track and it’s only a matter of time.
