Record: 2-10, 0-9 Big Ten

Rutgers has played a lot of terrible football over the past decade, but 2019 saw perhaps their worst effort.

The Scarlet Knights dropped all nine of their conference games and never came close in any as their closest Big Ten game was a 21-point loss to Penn State in the season finale.

Their lone wins came against UMass and Liberty as they lost their third non-conference game by 14 points to Boston College.

Rutgers fired head coach Chris Ash just four games into the season after a 52-0 loss to Michigan. Interim head coach Nunzio Campanile did not fare any better as he coached in a 48-7 loss to Maryland, 35-0 loss to Indiana and a 27-0 shutout loss to Michigan State.

The season was so bad, Rutgers had to re-hire Greg Schiano as head coach in what may be a last-ditch effort to prove they truly belong in the Big Ten.
