Record: 1-11, 0-9 Big 12

The Kansas Jayhawks only picked up one victory during their dreadful 2012 season, but the year still ranks better to some two-win teams’ due to how close they were to pulling out victories for head coach Charlie Weis.

After winning their season opener over South Dakota State, the season became a nightmare for the Jayhawks. They dropped a one-point game at home to Rice and lost by seven at Northern Illinois.

They did manage to keep some of their Big 12 games close losing to then-ranked No. 25 Texas Tech 41-34 in double-overtime, falling to Texas by just four in Lawrence and kept Oklahoma State within six in a 20-14 loss.

However, they still suffered several blowout defeats, including a 56-16 loss to Kansas State and a 59-10 loss to West Virginia.

By staying close against some conference foes, Kansas’ 2012 squad isn’t among the five worst teams of the decade and nor was it the worst season in Lawerence in the decade as they’ll appear again later on this list.
