3. Amen Ogbongbemiga, LB

Amen Ogbongbemiga will continue to be a thorn in the side of opposing quarterbacks and tongue-tied announcers this fall in Stillwater after a breakout junior year in 2019. The Lagos, Nigeria, native played high school football in Calgary, Canada, before making his way to Oklahoma State.

Ogbongbemiga was a second-team All-Big 12 performer and a first-team academic honoree in 2019. He finished the season with 15.5 tackles for loss (fifth-best in the Big 12) and 100 tackles overall (sixth-best in the conference).

He was a big presence in the middle of the OSU defense by constantly hurrying opposing signal-callers. His late-game interception helped seal a 34-27 win against Iowa State and he set a career high with 12 tackles against Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl.

Ogbongbemiga’s emergence with the OSU defense was a huge factor in its strong finish to 2019: its final six opponents all scored fewer points than their season averages.

As a defensive team captain, Ogbongbemiga’s return with OSU in 2020 is equally as important as those of its offensive stars.
