Looking at Florida’s current roster, there are a lot of different names that could have fit here for the Gators. Florida had nine NFL prospects leave and lost several others to graduation. They need some talent depth this season.

Not only did the Gators sign a solid freshman class, but they were also active in the transfer portal bringing in seven transfers. The only transfer that is immediately eligible is Stewart Reese, however.

With such an influx of new talent coming to Gainesville, you look at the rankings and find the five-star. The Florida Gators did sign one five-star; defensive tackle, Gervon Dexter and he is a player. His physical size jumps out at you when you watch his tape.

There aren’t many 6-7 interior linemen walking around. Dexter is strong enough to split defenders at the three-technique as well as engage and shed blockers. He is an elite athlete fast enough to track down plays on the backside and string out perimeter run plays.

Going to a program that runs a 3-4 scheme, expect Dexter to play a lot of end in base formations and slide inside for passing situations when the Gators have to play either nickel or dime defense.
