This was truly a pick’em. The LSU Tigers lost 14 players from last season’s national championship team. They also lost both Dave Arranda and Joe Brady. Arranda left for Baylor and Brady left for the Carolina Panthers in the NFL.

Scott Linehan and Bo Pelini could have both made this list. The Tigers also bring in a host of newcomers on defense and offense for the new season. One thing is for sure, there is not a lack of talent in Baton Rouge.

With such an influx of talent, you can never go wrong with looking for who the top-rated signee is. For the Tigers is it tight end Arik Gilbert. Gilbert is both the top-rated recruit in signed by the Tigers and the top-rated tight end n the country.

Gilbert is the right recruit at the right times since the Tigers lost Thaddeus Moss to the NFL draft. They simply replace one freak athlete with another. Gilbert is the total package and the best tight end prospect in a long time. Expect him to start day one.
