There were plenty of surprise players that decided to come back for their senior season for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alex Leatherwood was regarded as one of the most talented overall tackles for the 2020 NFL Draft class. He decided to remain at Alabama for his senior season to finish his collegiate at Alabama the right way.

At 6-6, 310 pounds, Leatherwood will be one of the biggest offensive tackles in the 2021 NFL Draft class. This past season was the first season that Leatherwood started as a tackle after starting the previous two seasons as a guard. The tackle position is his natural position as he was more consistent in protecting the edge.

In the previous season as a tackle, Leatherwood only allowed 10 pressures as opposed to the 2018 season when he allowed 13 pressures as a guard. This past season, Leatherwood was given an 80 pass-blocking grade by Pro Football Focus. He was named a member of the second-team All-SEC by the AP and first-team All-SEC by the coaches.

Leatherwood will look to help make the Crimson Tide one of the top teams in the nation and SEC champions this upcoming 2020 season. He is one of the most well-balanced blockers in the nation in the running and passing game.

USA Today has Leatherwood ranked as the 12th overall prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class while Athlon Sports has him ranked as the No. 17 overall ranked prospect.
