These are three fixes the Alabama football need to make if they expect to return to the College Football Playoff in 2020.

It is hard not to imagine that the Alabama Crimson Tide is not angry and ornery coming into this season. One of head coach Nick Saban’s favorite maxims is “never waste a loss.” If the Tide needed motivation coming into this season, they have it.

After finishing either No. 1 or No. 2 four consecutive years, Alabama finished outside the top two for the first time since 2014 and outside the top five for the first time since finishing No. 7 in 2013. This was the first time the Crimson Tide did not make the playoff since its inception.

Not only that, but they also lost to rivals Auburn and LSU. Saban has plenty of bulletin board material heading into this season.

Even with this motivation, the Crimson Tide come into this season with some legitimate questions. Saban and offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian have to deal with turnover this season. They lose quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs III as well as tackle Jedrick Wills.

Despite the loss of Wills, Alabama has an experienced offensive line. They also have an experienced running back in Najee Harris to run behind that experienced offensive line. Defensively, they have returning experience in the front-seven.

Most of the experience is returning from injury including Dylan Moses and Josh McMillon anchoring the inside of their front-seven.

There are some fixes the Crimson Tide have to make to get back to the national semifinal. Here are three of them.
