Notre Dame football looks to have a big season in 2020. Here are three of the Irish’s biggest concerns heading into the season.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish come into this season having won double-digit games three consecutive wins. Those three seasons include a win against LSU in the Citrus Bowl, a College Football Playoff appearance and a win against Iowa State in the Camping World Bowl.

This season head coach Brian Kelly — heading into his 10th season — looks to take the Irish up one more level as they seek to get to the national semi-final for the second time in four years. Double-digit wins and another playoff berth solidifies this as the Irish’s best run since Lou Holtz.

Starting quarterback Ian Book returns for his redshirt senior year at quarterback. Jafar Armstrong should be back from injury and ready this season. Both are behind a veteran offensive line. The defensive line returns players from injury as well.

This could be a season where the Irish can rewrite the narrative of their ceiling as a program. They’ve done so with the floor; the Irish are good for nine wins a season again.

Still, there are some concerns with this team on both offense and defense. If those concerns are not addressed, they might not get to where they want to be this season. Here are three concerns the Irish have to address this season.
