In 2001, Dorsey was named the NCAA Quarterback of the Year after throwing for 2,652 yards and 23 touchdowns. He led the Hurricanes to a perfect 12-0 season capped off with a Rose Bowl win over Nebraska as the Hurricanes were named unanimous national champions.

Dorsey again won NCAA Quarterback of the Year Award honors in 2002 as he threw for 3,369 and 28 touchdowns as he led the Hurricanes back to a 12-1 season with their lone loss coming to Ohio State in the national title game.

The Hurricanes signal-caller went onto spend three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and three with the Cleveland Browns. He is now back in Miami as the assistant athletic director at Florida International.
