A four-year ACC football starter; helped lead UNC to Peach Bowl

North Carolina doesn’t have the richest quarterback history, but Darian Durant‘s career sticks out the most of any Tar Heel signal-caller.

In four seasons, Durant finished his career second in program history with 8,754 passing yards and first with 68 passing touchdowns.

As a freshman in 2001, Durant helped guide the Tar Heels to an 8-5 season, which was capped off with a Peach Bowl victory over Auburn.

After rough seasons in 2002 and 2003, Durant led UNC back to a bowl game in 2004 when he threw for 2,238 yards and 17 touchdowns with 188 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Durant would go onto have a star career in the CFL, where he won two Grey Cups and led the league in passing in 2010 and passing touchdowns in 2013.
