1. Ian Stewart, WR, Michigan State football

Another position they recruited heavily was wide receiver. Because there is so much youth at receiver this season in East Lansing, that position could be as up for grabs as any this season.

One player that could see some action is three-star incoming freshman Ian Stewart. One characteristic that could give him a leg up on the competition is his size. At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, he has a frame that is not done growing but has good mass already.

Another characteristic that gives Stewart an advantage is he’s an athlete. He did not make the permanent switch to wide receiver until late in his career. He’s played all over the field in high school, so you have some creative things you can do with him while he develops as a receiver.

As a receiver, he still has a lot to learn. He’s raw as a route runner, but he has big strong hands and attacks the ball. The Michigan State coaching staff will fall in love with his work ethic.

Stewart is dynamic with the ball in his hands and is strong enough to break tackles. The offensive staff is going to love his willingness to block in the run game. He has enough versatility to get him one the field this season.
