1. Can Trevor Lawrence avoid another slow start?

The schedule for the Tigers is tough but manageable. With so much young talent around him, there is a possibility that Trevor Lawrence could get off to a slow start. He will throw to all-new starting receivers this season. Though they are talented, he does not have a rapport with them that he did Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross.

Lawrence has everything on his shoulders this season. Can he handle the weight of expectations in addition to so much new talent? He is expected to be a Heisman Trophy candidate this season along with being the No. 1 pick in the draft. He also has had since last season to think about the fact that the national title game was his worst game as Clemson’s QB1.

Lawrence has played a lot of football. He’s been a starting quarterback since he was a freshman in high school. Sometimes people forget he was only a sophomore last season because of the poise he plays with. He’ll need that poise if the Tigers want to win another national championship.

Even without Ross, this is one of the more talented skill groups Lawrence has had in his three years at Death Valley East. The Tigers should be 6-0 going into the Notre Dame game. That game will demonstrate how well the young talent has come together with Lawrence and if he’ll be in New York.
