A season ago, Virginia was in a good place and Bryce Perkins was one of the best quarterbacks in the conference, passing for over 3,500 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also led the team with 769 yards and 11 scores as the Cavaliers made a trip to the ACC title game before losing the Clemson and then to Florida in the Orange Bowl.

Perkins is now gone.

That leaves a huge void at quarterback and Bronco Mendenhall has some major questions to answer. The program is still trending in the right direction, but it’ll take a slight step back in 2020.

For the second time in three years since Jimbo Fisher’s departure, Florida State has a new head coach. Willie Taggart was fired midseason in 2019 and the athletic department went out and landed Mike Norvell from Memphis.

This new era should be a good one for the Seminoles. While there’s plenty of fixing to do, Florida State doesn’t lack talent.

James Blackman is back at quarterback, Tamorrion Terry is one of the best receivers in the country and Marvin Wilson is an elite defensive lineman. This team returns 17 starters and should approach 7-8 wins.
