2. Florida Gators

The Florida Gators are a team that likes to utilize multipurpose receiver and return specialist like JD Spielman. Inefficient quarterback play has plagued the Gators to keep from becoming an elite offense and win the SEC for the first time since 2008.

Florida finally returns a valuable quarterback that averages 300 passing yards per game for the first time since 2001. The bad news is that they do return any of their top three receivers from last season.

The Gators’ leading wide receiver from last season that returns for 2020 is senior Trevon Grimes, who caught 33 passes for 491 yards and three touchdowns. Adding a dynamic, versatile receiver like Spielman, not only continues the multiple offensive schemes that Florida utilizes but he adds talent. He will contribute heavily to a Gators’ offense that was ranked 29th in points per game (33.2) and 16th in passing yards per game (300.8).

Going to the Florida Gators will also create more of a boost in his NFL draft stock as an inside receiver and return specialist. The Gators had three of their receivers including Van Jefferson and Tyrie Cleveland and running back Lamical Perine drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Spielman will be able to play to his full potential as a slot receiver and return specialist for the Gators as they contend with the Georgia Bulldogs for the SEC East title.
