You could probably make an argument that Virginia Tech belongs in this spot, but Miami is as talented as any team in the ACC, save Clemson, but the Hurricanes in Coral Gables is never a matchup you want later in the season.

North Carolina should be 6-1, at worst, at this point in the season and undefeated in league play and this is the last tough test of the regular season. If Miami can get past the Hurricanes on the road, you might just see the Tar Heels finish the final month of the year undefeated.

Miami will be tough with D’Eriq King under center and Brevin Jordan at tight end, but the Hurricanes lose a lot of starters from a 6-7 team.

By far North Carolina’s toughest test in 2020, Auburn will be awaiting the Tar Heels after a tough season opener in Orlando against UCF. Could this be the best Week 2 matchup that no one’s talking about?

The Tigers return Bo Nix while North Carolina has Sam Howell which makes this a Heisman darkhorse special. This could be one of those epic quarterback duels we talk about all year.

Auburn is projected to finish around the 9-10 win mark while North Carolina is the favorite in the Coastal division which makes this a potential New Year’s Six-type of preview. This game in Atlanta will have plenty of hype and it’ll show just how far North Carolina has come and how far the Tar Heels still have to go to be national contenders.
