LSU Football: Ranking Tigers’ 2020 opponents by toughness
Despite a 5-7 season, Ole Miss played LSU tough during their meeting last season. The Rebels scored 37 points on the Tigers behind an outstanding game from quarterback John Rhys Plumlee who threw for 123 yards and a touchdown and ran for 212 yards and four touchdowns.
Heading into 2020, Ole Miss returns an experienced roster, including Plumee and a fresh face at head coach in Lane Kiffin, who many project will get the Rebels back to a bowl.
While it may be another shootout, LSU still has far more talent than Ole Miss and will play in Death Valley.
Last season the Tigers marched into Austin and took down the Texas Longhorns 45-38 in their first meeting since 2003.
In 2020, the teams’ will square off again in Baton Rouge in what figures to be yet another close affair. The Longhorns have one of the nation’s most experienced quarterbacks in Sam Ehlinger and are poised to steal the Big 12 away from Oklahoma.
While the showdown will poise a rather large challenge, LSU will have the benefit of home field and the season young, which may be at an advantage as Texas has often started seasons slow.
