Clemson Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2020
Clemson starts off their October schedule with a Friday night trip to Chestnut Hill, which is traditionally not an easy place to get a win.
Boston College will be under new leadership in 2020, with former coach Steve Addazio being shown the door and Ohio State defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley taking over as the head coach. Things will be different at Boston College this season and Hafley will have to hope this team can show steady improvement throughout the year and have some things to build upon for 2021.
The Eagles were always solid under Addazio, but never spectacular and never were good enough to challenge Clemson for the Atlantic division championship. You have to go all the way back to 2010 to find the last time that Boston College was able to beat Clemson.
That is an awfully long time and with the Eagles rebuilding, that winning streak for Clemson will continue. Clemson wins big yet again.
Final Score: Clemson 56, Boston College 10 (5-0, 4-0)
In what was once the premier game in the ACC and one of the premier games in the entire country, Clemson has flat out dominated the Seminoles recently and Florida State has had to, once again, change coaches.
Willie Taggart was a disaster hire for the Seminoles and was fired halfway through his second season last year. In comes former Memphis coach Mike Norvell to try and right the ship.
Clemson has won the last five games in the series and three out of those five have been decided by double digits. Florida State has a lot of questions to answer along the offensive line and how to replace Cam Akers at running back, but receiver Tamorrion Terry is back, as is star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.
Hopefully the Seminoles can regain their past form so this game can matter again, but don’t expect it to be in 2020.
Final Score: Clemson 42, Florida State 24 (6-0, 5-0)
