Lincoln Riley has been one of the most successful coaches in the country but will he lead Oklahoma football to yet another playoff appearance?

Spoiled doesn’t even begin to describe the Oklahoma fanbase after years of dominance in the Big 12. Under Bob Stoops, the program was as good as any in the country and despite his sudden retirement a few years ago, it hasn’t taken any steps in the wrong direction.

In fact, the Sooners are 36-6 under Lincoln Riley in three years and have made three straight playoff appearances. The only knock on Riley so far is that he hasn’t won a playoff game.

That could all change in 2020 with the emergence of a potential long-term starting quarterback in redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler. If he lives up to the immense hype as a former five-star recruit, Oklahoma could have yet another Heisman-contending quarterback and potentially someone who could get the Sooners over that final hurdle in the playoff.

Oklahoma not only brings in a talented quarterback in Rattler to replace Jalen Hurts, but the Sooners return some talented, young wide outs, 1,000-yard rusher Kennedy Brooks and a defense that did nothing but improve under Alex Grinch’s reign in 2019. In fact, the Sooners shocked everyone, finishing with the No. 38 total defense in the country.

Right now, this is the program to beat in the Big 12 and that will continue as long as the Sooners keep winning and it doesn’t look like they’ll be stopped in 2020.

How do Oklahoma’s opponents rank, by toughness, for the 2020 season?
