Pick Analysis. Sept. 26. player. 10. 945. Scouting Report. West Point (N.Y.). Army Black Knights

Army is no stranger to giving Power Five teams issues — just look at the Oklahoma vs. Army game in 2018 and what the Black Knights almost did to Michigan in 2019. Once again, the Black Knights and Sooners will meet up, but this time it will take place at West Point which means this has upset written all over it.

This will be the Sooners’ first road game of the season and it’ll come one week after a tough non-conference battle with Tennessee.

The Black Knights will be breaking in a new quarterback and one new running back but the defense returns seven starters to a unit that ranked 30th nationally in 2019.

This is a scary matchup for Oklahoma.

Matt Wells is heading into his second year at the helm of Texas Tech and his first season wasn’t overly successful as the Red Raiders finished just 4-8. Unless he can get some kind of pulse from the defense, that trend of bowl-less seasons will continue in Lubbock.

In fact, Texas Tech’s defense was non-existent last season, ranking No. 127 in the country and completely overshadowing the emergence of Alan Bowman at quarterback.

Fortunately, experience won’t be an issue on defense with eight starters returning, but that’s not very telling when it comes to production. Oklahoma may drop 70 in the season finale.
