If you’re unfamiliar with what Gary Patterson has done at TCU, you might want to look at the history. When it seems like the Horned Frogs are down and out, they find a way to make a comeback the next year and prove everyone wrong. That’s what’s about to happen in 2020.

Finishing just 5-7, TCU didn’t strike fear into Big 12 opponents like it used to, but that’s soon to change with Max Duggan stepping up at quarterback. He’s going to shock some people in 2020 and become one of the conference’s top passers in a surprisingly-potent offense.

Don’t worry about the defense. Despite losing seven starters, it’ll be solid once again.

Iowa State may be my darkhorse favorite to win the Big 12 this season and here’s why: Brock Purdy. This kid is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the country and finished just 18 yards shy of 4,000 in 2019. You probably didn’t know that because, well, the national media likes to overlook a Cyclone quarterback.

Not only is Purdy back to terrorize the conference as a junior, but Tarique Milton will be one of the best receivers, Charlie Kolar is arguably the best tight end in the country and Breece Hall is a rising superstar at running back.

If the defense can effectively catch up in 2020, Matt Campbell and Co. will be hoisting some big-time trophies at the end of the year.
