Iowa State football has plenty of NFL-caliber players on its team for the 2021 NFL Draft including some that could be selected in the first round.

For many years, the Iowa State Cyclones were the laughingstock of the Big 12. Their inability to win games and have their players go to the NFL was at an abysmal. They found some success in Paul Rhodes as head coach, but Matt Campbell has created a winning culture in Ames.

This season, the Cyclones have a great chance to contend for the Big 12 title. They have a chance to have a high number of star players selected for the 2021 NFL Draft as well.

The Cyclones have not accumulated the same amount of success as their conference rivals in the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. They had two of their players drafted in the 2019 NFL Draft in running back David Montgomery and wide receiver Hakeem Butler. Before then, the Cyclones didn’t have a single-player drafted since the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Cyclones are a program that is looking to create some consistency not only on the field but off the field. Iowa State is expected to have three or more of their Cyclone players drafted for the first time since the 2001 NFL Draft when there were three.

The Cyclones not only have talent that could be drafted in the 2021 NFL Draft but they have the potential to be drafted within the top two rounds.

Here are the top three Iowa State prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft.
