Between the nation’s top two conferences, it’s always a large point of controversy as to who is the best. In 2020, it’ll be Big Ten football.

For years in the past and for years in the future, people have argued and will continue to argue about who is the best conference in college football. Does it matter? Not really, but technically arguments like these could be the difference between a No. 5 ranking and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Largely, the SEC is considered to be the best conference, but not without a strong argument from the Big Ten.

In fact, with the recent struggles from Alabama, the Big Ten might even change that narrative. Of course, when I say recent struggles from Alabama, I mean that they finished ranked No. 8 with a 35-16 win in the Citrus Bowl against Michigan.

The Big Ten, on the other hand, has some teams on the rise, including Minnesota, who finished 11-2 and looked like a team that can replace Michigan State as a No. 2 or 3 team in the league.

The Big Ten also has a sneaky team in Rutgers (no, that’s not a joke), who could potentially become more competitive in the league. I think the hiring of Greg Schiano at Rutgers will have a much bigger impact on the league than most people think.

Here’s exactly why the Big Ten will be better than the SEC in 2020.
