I’ve said it multiple times, but if I had to pick one darkhorse contender in the Big 12 for 2020, it would have to be Iowa State. The Cyclones return one of the best quarterbacks in the country in Brock Purdy along with Tarique Milton at receiver and Breece Hall at running back. The Cyclones will be a problem for the rest of the Big 12 moving forward.

Texas may be on upset alert here despite this being a home game for the Longhorns as the Cyclones have been no strangers to upsets over ranked foes under Matt Campbell.

If Oklahoma State is just No. 3 on this list, that just goes to show how difficult Texas’ 2020 schedule is. Every Big 12 team plays one another, but the road games for Texas as well as one major non-conference game has to make the Longhorns’ slate arguably the toughest in the league.

Oklahoma State returns Spencer Sanders at quarterback, Chuba Hubbard at running back and Tylan Wallacer at receiver. This offense might just average 50 points per game.
