Mississippi State Football: 3 Bulldogs with most to prove in 2020
Mike Leach has set high expectations in Starkville for Mississippi State football. These players must step up in 2020 to help the Bulldogs meet them.
Coming off a disappointing 6-7 campaign, the Mississippi State Bulldogs made a big change this offseason, firing Joe Moorhead after just two seasons as head coach and hiring big personality and former Washington State head coach Mike Leach.
With Leach in town, expectations will be high for the Bulldogs to win right away despite having lost several veteran players to the NFL or graduation.
Leach has already been making some noise both on the field (transfer portal) and off it but the biggest news of the offseason had to be the addition of Stanford transfer KJ Costello.
While there’s a lot of talent gone, there’s also still plenty returning and incoming that will face a world of pressure to succeed in 2020 if the Bulldogs want to make it back to a bowl game and surprise people in a loaded SEC West.
If they want to do just that, they’ll need some of their key players to step up and rise to the occasion.
Here are the three Mississippi State players with the most to prove entering the 2020 season.
