Senior. Osirus Mitchell. 893. Scouting Report. WR. 3. player. Pick Analysis

Four of the Bulldogs key wide receivers from last season in Stephen Guidry, Deddrick Thomas, Isaiah Zuber and Malik Dear are all no longer in Starkville, meaning Osirus Mitchell will have both pressure and much more to prove in 2020.

The 6-foot-5 Mitchell led the Bulldogs with 430 receiving yards and six touchdown grabs last season but still far from ranking with the SEC’s elite as he finished 30th in the conference in yards and tied for eighth in touchdown catches.

In 2020, the Bulldogs will need him to take that next step towards becoming elite. He will generate more attention for opposing defenses Guidry, Thomas and others gone but will still be counted on to be Mississippi State’s primary receiver.

If he can add onto his yard total and rank among the best in the SEC while also still hauling in the same or better touchdown production, Mitchell will put his team in a better place to succeed in the SEC West and improve his NFL draft stock for 2021.

However, if he can not, the Bulldogs will be in desperate need for younger and less experienced receivers to step up. This calls for lots of pressure and much to prove for Mitchell.
