Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Senior. 2. 893. DE. Marquiss Spencer. player

The Bulldogs need more production from defensive end Marquiss Spencer in 2020 if they want to be successful.

Chauncey Rivers, who led the team in sacks last season has departed, leaving Kobe Jones who recorded four sacks last season and Spencer who had just two as the Bulldogs primary pass rushers.

In parts of four seasons with the Bulldogs, Spencer has recorded just four sacks and forced two fumbles. This is not enough production in the SEC to consider him among the league’s best pass rushers.

With Rivers gone, much of opposing offenses attention will be on Jones; thus, Spencer will have a golden opportunity to step up. If he can prove he chase down quarterbacks at a higher rate, the Bulldogs will have a far better chance of getting back to a bowl game and the 6-foot-4 Spencer could potentially make a push towards hearing his name called in the 2021 NFL Draft.

If not, Spencer will have to wonder what he could’ve done to have been a more productive pass rusher during his college career despite ample opportunity.
