Penn State football has some players looking to increase their stature with the team. Which ones have the most to prove this year?
Penn State has big goals for this upcoming season. A Big Ten championship is the first goal. Getting back to Indianapolis for the first time since 2016 requires navigating the gauntlet of Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State in the East division. The Lions also do not have easy divisional crossover games with Iowa and Nebraska on the slate.
Even bigger than a conference championship would be the Nittany Lions making their first ever College Football Playoff appearance.
From a talent and blue chip ratio perspective, Penn State has all the tools to make the playoff. The Lions have been knocking on the door the last few seasons and now they need to kick it open.
In order to achieve the goals, the players will need to make it happen. Last season, Penn State overachieved considering where many pundits projecting them to finish in the preseason. Now the expectations are even higher with the talent coming back.
