With his job on the line yet again, Clay Helton will need to lead USC football to a big season if he has any hope of saving his job.

It has been the coaching decision that has dominated the headlines for the last two seasons and it still lingers around the USC football program. Head coach Clay Helton will need to win some big games this year if he is to convince the new administration at Southern California that he is the right man for the job.

It will not be easy to accomplish that task, as USC is set to have one of the most difficult schedules in the country and face multiple preseason top 10 teams.

There is reason to be optimistic if you are a Trojan fan, however. USC will have one of the top offenses in the country due to having an elite quarterback in Kedon Slovis and one of the most talented and deepest receiving corps in the country and the Trojans should be able to score at will.

The defense will be under new leadership with former Texas defensive coordinator Todd Orlando taking over and hoping that he can get the Trojans playing better on that side of the ball. With an improved defense, USC could be dreaming big in 2020.

Here is how I think the Trojans’ 2020 season will play out.
