804. Pick Analysis. Nov. 7. Florida State Seminoles. Scouting Report. Miami (Fla.). 9. player

This game has lost a little luster over the years, but this is still one of the best rivalries in the country and means a lot to both fanbases and programs.

The Hurricanes are currently sporting a three-game winning streak over the Seminoles and will look to make it four in a row in 2020. College football is better when these two teams are at the top of the sport and this game means something and hopefully both Manny Diaz and Mike Norvell can return these programs to the top of the sport.

Florida State has some really good talent coming back on this team, including receiver Tamorrion Terry and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson. If James Blackman can improve under Norvell, the Seminoles should be fine offensively. The two big question marks are the offensive line and how they replace Cam Akers.

The Seminoles have talent, but I am giving the edge to the Hurricanes in this one due to their defensive line being able to wreak havoc on a very poor offensive line.

Final Score: Miami 38, Florida State 24 (6-3, 3-2)

Nov. 14. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 10. 847. Blacksburg (Va.). Virginia Tech Hokies

One of Miami’s bigger rivalries, dating back to both teams time in the Big East, both of these teams have aspirations of winning the Coastal division and making it to Charlotte to take on Clemson.

Virginia Tech is bringing back 20 starters to an 8-5 team that started to play better once they made the switch to Hendon Hooker at quarterback. The Hurricanes dug themselves an early hole against the Hokies last year, turning the ball over on their first three possessions of the game and getting down 21-0 early. Miami’s comeback attempt fell short, as the Hokies won 42-35 and that really turned the season around for them.

Hokies head coach Justin Fuente is looking to win the Coastal for the first time since his first season as head coach in 2016. A big question that Virginia Tech will have to face is replacing defensive coordinator Bud Foster, who retired after more than 30 seasons on the sideline for the Hokies.

If Hooker keeps improving, the Hokies have a chance for a special season. I think the Hurricanes go into Blacksburg and emerge victorious however due to a big game from D’Eriq King.

Final Score: Miami 42, Virginia Tech 31 (7-3, 4-2)
