Nebraska Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2020 season
If anyone can turn around the Rutgers football program, it’s Greg Schiano. The Scarlet Knights have not been to a bowl game since 2014 as outside of three decent seasons’ under Kyle Flood; the program has struggled since Schiano left to coach the Tampa Buccaneers after the 2011 season.
Now back in New Jersey, Schiano is looking to turn around a Rutgers team that is a combined 3-21 the last two seasons.
While Rutgers will undoubtedly improve eventually, it’s going to take more than one year for Schiano to get the job done, which means Nebraska should pick up a fairly easy victory when they visit the Garden State in October.
Final Score: Nebraska 41, Rutgers, 20 (5-2, 3-1)
After playing in three straight winnable games, the Huskers will begin a daunting final stretch of the season when they take on the three-time defending Big Ten champion Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus on Halloween.
Nebraska and Ohio State have matched up in each of the past four seasons and none of the games have gone well as the Buckeyes have won by final scores of 62-3, 56-14, 36-31 and most recently 48-7 with College GameDay in Lincoln.
In 2020, the Huskers will have to travel to Columbus and while there’s a good chance they’ll come in feeling the rush of a three-game winning streak, Ohio State will likely serve them a piece of humble pie.
Final Score: Ohio State 52, Nebraska 20 (5-3, 3-2)
