To finish out the Cowboys’ non-conference schedule, they will host FCS opponent Western Illinois and the main thing here is keep showing defensive improvement and leave the game without any injuries to any key players. Name the Cowboys’ number in this one.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 66, Western Illinois 13 (3-0)

Scouting Report. TCU Horned Frogs. Fort Worth (Texas). 4. player. 872. Pick Analysis. Oct. 3

The Cowboys will have an early bye week on the last week of September and then will dive head-first into conference play with a trip to Fort Worth to take on TCU. This has been a tight series ever since the Horned Frogs made the move to the Big 12 and this one should be a good one.

Both of these teams will be trying to present themselves as the main opposition to Oklahoma and this will be a key game in doing so.

TCU regularly has a good defense under head coach Gary Patterson and even with the losses of Jeff Gladney and Ross Blacklock to the NFL, this unit will be another good one and the strength of this unit will be the secondary. The Horned Frogs sport one of the best safety duos in the country with Trevon Moehrig and Ar’Darius Washington returning and that duo combined for nine interceptions last season.

TCU seems to have found its quarterback in sophomore Max Duggan returning after setting some freshman passing records last season. Expect a great game here but the Cowboys win because of a big game from star running back Chuba Hubbard.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 42, TCU 31 (4-0, 1-0 Big 12)
