With an unpredictable college football season looming, who’ll be the quarterbacks who take advantage of the chaos? Who could take home the Heisman?

The Heisman Trophy award has been dominated by the quarterback position in recent history. Sixteen of the last 20 Heisman winners have been a quarterback including the four most recent winners.

This season is more likely than not going to be completely different than previous seasons. Will the Heisman Trophy be affected by these unique circumstances?

The betting odds still are trending towards a quarterback winning in 2020, despite the potential mayhem this season brings. According to many betting sites, these are the five highest consensus odds to take this year’s trophy home.

  • Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
  • Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
  • Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State
  • D’Eriq King, QB, Miami
  • Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

As you can see Hubbard is the only non-quarterback that is looked at with a somewhat realistic chance at taking the award home. The 2020 season brings a diverse group of quarterbacks looking to carve their name onto the Heisman Trophy.

Names like Fields, Trask, Bo Nix, Sam Howell and Kedon Slovis will be entering their second years as full-time starters. While experienced players such as Lawrence, Ian Book and Sam Ehlinger look to build off the foundation of their previous experiences in big-time games.

With one of the most unpredictable college seasons of all time on the horizon, which quarterbacks have the best chance at winning this year’s Heisman?
