With their third head coach in as many seasons, can Florida State football return to contending for the ACC Atlantic title in 2020?

The Willie Taggart era for Florida State football is mercifully over for Seminoles fans and it will be up to new head coach Mike Norvell to try and return the Seminoles to their winning ways.

Norvell is a very respected offensive mind that helped keep Memphis at the top of the AAC after Justin Fuente left for Virginia Tech and had one of the top offense in the country. These are not the Seminole teams of the 1990s, but there is still talent in Tallahassee.

The Seminoles will need to decide if they are going to stick with James Blackman as the starting quarterback or if they will try a younger option like freshman Chuba Purdy, who was a late recruiting win after flipping him from Louisville.

Florida State also has one of the best receivers in the country in Tamorrion Terry and a fantastic defensive tackle in Marvin Wilson. The key questions for the Seminoles will be how the offensive line can improve and how they replace Cam Akers production at running back.

With solid quarterback play, Florida State will be a tough out for any team. Here’s how I think the Seminoles’ 2020 season will play out.
