11. North Texas Mean Green

Much like Abilene Christian, North Texas struggled a season ago. They finished 4-8 overall, 3-5 within their conference. They did open with a win over ACU though, which pushes them to No. 11 instead of No. 12 on this list.

They are looking to replace quarterback Mason Fine, a record-setter for the Mean Green, and didn’t get to have any kind of spring football due to COVID-19, which pushes them behind the eight ball in terms of replacing such a quarterback. They had time with him out due to an injury to try to figure something out, but it didn’t pan out. They will be turning to a host of unproven players to try to replace the starting quarterback.

They are also installing a new defense under new defensive coordinator Clint Bowen.

Without spring football to work through those changes, the Mean Green will be having some growing pains come Week 2 when they take on the Aggies.
