Last season, there was some excitement surrounding the Nevada program with Malik Henry walking on with the program, but the former five-star recruit turned Last Chance U star never panned out in Reno. Now, Carson Strong is back at quarterback for a sophomore season after passing for 2,335 yards and 11 touchdowns while leading the Wolf Pack to a 7-6 record.

Nevada brings back nine starters on offense which is desperately needing improvement after finishing 101st in yards and 111th in scoring last season. The defense returns just five starters from the No. 75 unit in the nation.

This is a middle-tier Mountain West squad.

Under new direction, Missouri could get back to its winning ways, starting in 2020. It won’t be an easy task for Eli Drinkwitz, who came over from Appalachian State, but he can get the job done.

However, I just don’t see that first season going well for the new coach as Missouri is coming off a 6-6 season in which it finished just 3-5 in conference play.

The Tigers do bring in TCU transfer Shawn Robinson at quarterback and Larry Rountree III is back at running back so we could see the offense perk up a bit despite the loss of Kelly Bryant. The defense, too, should be solid. This could be a bowl-bound team in 2020.
