Michigan Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2020 season
By Shane Lunnen
Michigan football heads into its sixth season under Jim Harbaugh. The Wolverines will need a big season to cool off Jim Harbaugh’s seat.
Michigan enters this season again with expectations high. The fan base is hungry for a Big Ten championship and a victory over bitter rival Ohio State. Whether they achieve those goals will rest on the shoulders of whoever is named the starting quarterback.
The Wolverines have a quarterback competition this year with Shea Patterson gone. Redshirt junior Dylan McCaffrey and redshirt sophomore Joe Milton will battle it out in camp. Neither has a lot of in game experience and offensive coordinator Josh Gattis will now have the opportunity to further his offense with a new guy at the helm.
Defensive coordinator Don Brown gets back several players this season. The top three tacklers are gone, but the 11th-ranked defense should not see much drop off. The defensive line and secondary should be outstanding and anchor the defense.
The schedule is tough. In addition to the standard Big Ten East opponents, the Wolverines open with a big non conference road trip and have a couple difficult divisional cross over match-ups. However after the opening game, Michigan does not leave the state for a month.
What is in the cards for Michigan this season? Let’s take it game by game and see if Michigan can make their way to Indianapolis this season.
